New York City Art 5 (set of 128 artworks) through the eyes of character: Naresh David Sharma-Goldberg by Dr. Sukant Khurana.

Dr. Sukant Khurana has made art celebrating his love of NYC from the point of view of 1000 plus characters (to be put out over 2023 to 2025). These works are physical-digital-AI intersection works. This celebration of the Big Apple is also in the form of murals, large installations, and mixed media large purely physical artworks, which take hundreds of layers. The digital art series is being uploaded and sold as a whole set of each character at a mere $ 3.80, and is managed by Ms. Zeenat Firdaus. 

Naresh David Sharma-Goldberg is a hyphenated child, an offspring of two immigrants, a Jewish mother and an Indian father, born in the Bay Area but immigrated to the Big Apple in his early 20s. He struggled with schizophrenia, which derailed his promising career in medicine, and his dream of completing medicine at Columbia remained a dream. He moved in and out of institutions, and medical facilities, and rented his own place when he could, and moved in with an old uncle or friends in his 2 decades in NYC when he ran out of money. He made survival money by doing copyediting and creative design work for his father's friends in the Bay area, and when it was more than survival money, it was spent in a few weeks on alcohol, art, and art supplies purchases. He sought refuge in the buildings and streets of NYC, spirituality in the skyline, and imagined the city to be devoid of people, even when people were rubbing shoulders and yelling at the slow movers. His hope, depression, escapes, and occasional plans in an otherwise drifting life, changed his palate but the style remained the same. His twenty years ended with him moving back to the Bay Area to be with his mother, after his father's death.
